Just an update...
I have been to see the DSN tonight - I have to go back in January when she will give me an Insulinx meter, set up to tell me how much Novorapid to take - based on the food diary i need to keep for a week in early January and my readings at the time, they will program the meter for me. If I want to go to their weight management group I can do to (have about a stone and a half to lose now). She asked me if I use carbs and cals, which i do try to follow, but to be honest its difficult when you dont know the ratio to take based on the carbs eaten. She believes I would benefit from novorapid at each mealtime rather than just evening meal, but will look at that once I have the Insulinx meter.
I am being referred to the Xpert for Insulin course. She believes I should be a "level 3" diabetic for the time being - which means my care will be her / the specialist Diabetic team in the area - I get more time with her and more help in getting this under control. She also mentioned type 1 or 1.5 yet again, and said they may test some antibodies or something in January. 🙂
Thank you all for your help and support, but especially to Northerner, who convinced me I needed to stand up for what I wanted! Well, I got what I asked for and more, so it obviously worked! You guys rock!! 🙂
