Yours was a gut buster @gail2...and so was mine. Me and the fiencee had a seriously nice Sunday lunch at a branch of acclaimed steak house Hawksmoor on Air Street in London...Roast Beef,Yorkshire Pudding,Roast Potatoes, carrots,Cauliflower cheese,Roast Parsnips,Green beans and gravy...followed by chocolate tart afterwards.I don't know how many carbs there were but some serious shopping afterwards certainly helped.

well if you cant have the ocassonal blow out wots the point normally im very good watching the carbs/cals

Mine will be home made chicken and veg soup, possibly some croutons. Recovering from stinky cold so I am not cooking or hungry but need comfort bowl and some nourishment. No Sunday booze though, off it just now.

Ate very little yesterday so was "starving" this morning. Made an 'everything porridge' for breakfast. Did some food shopping then had a very un-sunday lunch of 'Fasolakia' green beans stewed in a garlic tomato sauce with brown rice. Just waiting for a loaf of wholemeal bread to finish proving before baking.

Not traditional but had a lovely free range pork chop with a large portion of frittata.

Sunday blow out?
Well I had four shakes today, just over 800 cals, oh and one cup of tea with dash of milk and one sweetener, plus few pints of water.
Sunday blow out......no I'm not jealous, not at all!
But its one of the things i'm looking forward to when this diet is over, just 9.5 weeks to go....
🙂:thankyou:

We always have a Sunday roast, try to vary meat from week to week, yesterday we had beef, not roasted but done in slow cooker. Had usual with it which was roast tatties yorkshires carrot & turnip mash peas & proper Bisto gravy made from water from slow cooker.

I'm so looking forward to having something like this again, maybe with less tatties....

I also enjoyed a traditional Sunday lunch yesterday. Felt guilty afterwards but surely you are allowed a treat now and again otherwise life would be a bit miserable. As my gp said everything in moderation . I do have mashed turnip instead of potatoes most of of the time with my roast dinners.

I agree, treats are a good motivational/reward mechanism, but I can't have any yet, as I'm on a strict 12 week very low cal diet.
But it will be worth it in the long run, I get the start of normal food re-introduction at week 13, seems a long way off, but I know its not.

Hi Peter, I feel your pain. Although I am not on a strict meal plan, I stopped all sweet snacks, puddings, pastries and cakes plus alcohol back in March as my bg was ridiculously high. Concentrated on improving my main diet and cutting down on healthier carbs to help reduce bg along with medication. Since June I have had an occasional sweet treat, but only small portions and I can count the number of treats on one hand. Still missing sweet stuff but the long term goals make it worthwhile. Will never go back to the old snacking habits though.

Caramelised-onion hummus on bread, I believe.
