Welcome to the forum.
In order to help you a bit more information would give something to work with, what insulins are you having and when were those blood glucose readings taken. before food? after food? Consistently high or just a one off.? If a one off you may have had something on your fingers.
I assume you are finger pricking rather than having a Libre.
Your levels are still pretty high but that might be expected with steroids.

Blood prick taken before good. Working with diabetes team. Currently take 38 units Lantas with 8 units of rapid 3 times a day. Had a steady decline and this is a one off spike. I might retest before bed to reassure and hopefully its reduced.

How many years have you been diagnosed @77Lucy ? Are you sure you didn’t forget your bolus (meal) injection? Are you carb counting and adjusting your bolus (meal) insulin according to the carbs you’re about to eat? Could you be ill? Illness can cause spikes, sometimes even before you feel too bad. Have you got the means to test for ketones?

Welcome to the forum @77Lucy

Sorry to hear you've been having a difficult time with your diabetes recently :(

Had your levels reduced at the end of the day yesterday?

When did you start on insulin? It's not uncommon to be started on relatively cautious doses (because insulin is a powerful medication that needs treating with respect), so if you're still in the early weeks of adjusting to insulin therapy your surgery/clinic may still be finding the approximate ballpark of doses that will work for you at this time (this can change over time, and even increase/decrease through the course of the year as the seasons change).

@Inka's question about carb counting and adjusting doses to meals (or meals to doses) is a good one. Have you been given any guidance about carbohydrates in your meals, and approximately how many grams of carbs you should be aiming for to match your meal doses?
