I have used these as startes or for breakfast, Quantities change to suit the size of the mushroom, and taste

Mushrooms +
Take 4 saucer sized mushrooms (or as large as you can get) with half a tea spoon of olive oil. fill with a range of items to taste

Fills
Cream cheese (low fat) herbs ? bacon
Cream cheese (low fat) herbs ? tuna - sweet corn
Cream tomato - cheese (low fat) herbs ? ham ? pine apple
Tomato - cheese (low fat) herbs ? bacon
creem cheese - garlic puree and bacon
Mince - onion ? chillies or peppers

I've done this before, but I find the big mushrooms can have a bit of a bitter taste compared with a regular mushroom.

But I've only really stuffed them with cheese and bacon - so perhaps something different could be interesting.

My question is, do what with the OO ? It doesn't get hot enough for mushrooms? unless you like em soggy .....

Butter's the stuff, to which you add a tsp of OO to prevent the butter burning - nice brown mushrooms and no soggy in sight!

After an idea by lucy123 I got 3 large mushrooms oiled them sprinkled them with grated cheese which melted lovely topped with a piece of bacon and served for a light snack at lunch they were divine
