My sugar levels are ranging from between 16 and 24. I am very scared as I have many other health conditions. Bipolar, chronic pancreatitis, under active thyroid ...and to top it off, I am menopausal. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Jx

Hi Leanne, I'm new to all this myself so am a bit useless on giving any advice, have you been able to contact your GP?

I can imagine how scary your readings must feel, and being menopausal could be contributing to your feelings of anxiety. I'm also menopausal and have noticed an increase in anxiety generally. I guess you could call 111 to get some advice? At least you will have spoken to a clinician which may reassure you, or get you any medical help you might need. Take care.

Welcome @Leanneshana 🙂 Have you been diagnosed with diabetes? Which type? Are you on any medication for it? Yes, your blood sugar is too high but don’t be scared. With the right support, these can be brought down.

Can you tell us a little more information? You mention chronic pancreatitis - do you have Type 3C?

Sorry to hear about the number of conditions you are having to juggle @Leanneshana

As @Inka says, pancreatitis can give rise to a rarer form of diabetes called Type 3c, which some non-specialist Drs may not have come across

It could be that your insulin-production has been reduced, which may mean you need to ‘top up’ with injected insulin, and that some T2 meds which encourage the pancreas to produce more insulin may not work so well.
