A new study has made a strong link between people who have diabetes and a much higher chance of developing disability later in life.

The review finds older adults with diabetes are between 50 to 80 per cent more likely to experience problems.

The scientists say the reasons for the link remain mysterious, but will nonetheless mean larger health care costs as Australia's population ages.

Where's the mystery? All the complications of diabetes are disabling, and scientists do know why! We can reduce our risk by aiming for good control of BGs. Strange article

Alan was half asleep this morning when he posted the story as it was already posted and commented on long before 😛:D
