4 decades in diabetes is still one big enigma on how it behaves.

Suffering from stinking cold, hardly slept last 2 nights as throat feels like sandpaper itching like hell, so cough cough cough. Today feel like I've been kicked by horse aching in every joint, so not great but could be worse.

Mystery is bg has been normal, expected to ramp up basal but no reason to do, according to libre yesterday bg was 87% in range, getting up before bg was 6.7 so cant weigh things up, other times feeling like this bloods are all over shop.

I’m the same the lurgy has hit but levels seem okay which I’m actually happy about as I couldn’t tell what was going on with my levels otherwise.

I seem to be beating it so far but I’ve lost my sense of smell so everything tastes bland.

Hope you feel better soon

Sorry you’re feeling rubbish and hope you feel better soon. As for your bg - well it’s a mystery to me every day lol x

Same here - though joint pain only down the right side. I never thought to check my BG though - but have not been feeling dozy. I even went to have a lie down when feeling dismal and did not go to sleep. Ho hum.

I hope you feel better soon. Diabetes sure likes to keep us in our toes doesn’t it.
Sometimes when I am ill I am having to up my Basal as well as my Novorapid another time my BGs behave themselves impeccably.

Feeling a little more human today, only a slight headache and barely and sneezes or sniffles. Hopefully I have beaten it!

Feeling better after good nights sleep, got tip from pharmacy assistant about gargling aspirin to ease sore throats, swear it helped as no irritation thru night.

That’s something I advised to loads of sore throat patients. Learned it from my old GP trainer. Whisky works as a local anaesthetic too, but if you swallow it, it becomes a general anaesthetic:D

:D:D😳

Sorry to hear you’ve been hit by the lurgy @nonethewiser and @PhoebeC

I also get ‘unreliable’ glucose response from illness... sometimes the hiked BG comes first, other times I feel properly snotty for a couple of days with BG unchanged, before it begins to rise, other times I get no change at all.

I never know what to expect!
