After my post last week asking about the process I'd been through re diagnosis and the approach to treatment I had experienced being the norm and how others had fared, again need to ask for a little guidance.
I have in the interim contacted my GP practice to request a number of clarifications about my experience ans await their reply.
A week after being given Metformin 2 x 500 mg daily with no guidance, I find the intolerable lower body problems are still as vivid as when I started, they are now compounded by the blinding headaches I am having constantly/ that have lasted for the last 5 days.
I awake with it centred in the back of my head and neck this increases during the day to also effect the front. Should i bend over for anything dizziness and nausea result, it had gotten so extreme at night that i checked that mt blood pressure was ok.
I find there is a lessening a couple of hours after eating but gradually builds up again, indeed as I am staying up later than is usual due to the strange times we are in by 11 pm they are crippling, dizzy and slightly shaky.
My concerns are these symptoms are indicative of hypoglycemia yet without a BG tester its difficult to prove, tried sweet drink which helps an hour or so later but headache is always there lingering on.
The promised call after a week to check up on my progress didn't materialise. so I can't ask them and so far no call back from the practice, As we are shielding for my partners sake I am loath to try 111 as it could cause major problems if they attend etc.
eating as we have always done though have cut out extra sugar coffee etc and am using lower Gi carbs but not massive change,
Is this normal reaction to metformin ? just feel so ill
