F and I were amazed when we dug this book out of her book box last week. The little girl in it could have been F herself! We have SO many books in this house that we had been given this one years ago and forgotten it.

The little girl in the story, Amy, is type 1 diabetic and a keen swimmer. She moves to a new school and doesn't mention her diabetes. At the school swimming gala she wins a race, but then goes hypo.

It's a nice little story about swimming and new friends. F goes to swimming club every Sunday and adores it, so she thought it was extra special to find a book about swimming and diabetes. I notice that she has put it on her pile of favourite books. 🙂

Hi Kei,
That sounds like a lovely book - can you tell me what age it is aimed at?🙂Bev

I'd say between 5 and 8, but might also appeal to slightly older children if they like reading simple stories.

Thanks Northerner!🙂Bev
