Stopping Gliclazide

Hi,

I was diagnosed in Dec 24 with hba1c of 75. Went on 3 metformin per day and 2 glicozade. It dropped to 1 glicozade at the end of the Dec as bloods were going too low.

Had Hba1c test st the beginning of Feb and it was down to 41! Really pleased. However.....

I stopped the glicozade as directed by nurse. I've noticed my BG has risen since doing that. Before I was hovering between 5.5 and 6.5. It's now barely getting down to 7. Concerned that my body was relying on it doing all the work.

Has anyone else had any issues wheb coming off meds?

Can't help with personal experience but as I am hoping to go the same route with medication, I am very interested in the outcome.
Anecdotally I have heard that BG does rise after stopping gliclazide. Not sure if this is a short or long term effect.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
