I was given a diet sheet by the nurse at my GP's but did not notice that it was for cholesterol until I had left the surgery - I understand that they are similar, but I would really like a basic do and don't list that I can work with until my appointment with the dietitian.

Can anyone recommend a good list? I am really not sure which sites to trust!

I now have a test kit so I can start to judge what effect which food has on me, which is helping!

Thanks in advance for being so helpful!

You may find that the dietician follows the party line of "plenty of starchy carbs"- at worse this can translate into the same effects as eating plenty of sugar, I don't want to sound discouraging . Certainly go along and listen to her= she may give some good advice about limiting portion sizes of the above and it may well be that you are able to tolerate them in moderation. At least you've got the tools at your disposal now to find out
