What is the kind of average steps you should do or actually do a day. Or distance (miles preferably).

I know there are alot of variables with this question but I just want to get a rough idea.

I'm going out walking and generally doing more exercise but I want to set my self goals using my pedometer, but don't know what I should be doing anyway and what I should be doing to push myself etc.

Any ideas?

Or tips...... lol xx

Usual recommendation is 10,000 steps. Best idea is to see how many you do per day for a few days, then aim to increase by at least 500 day for each week until you reach 10,000 per day. Good luck.

I used to use a pedometer, and the goal was 10,000 steps. Not actually an unachievable goal, if you count how many you might spend going up and down a flight of stairs. A good pedometer usually has the function which lets you put in the length of your stride (quite easy to work out) 🙂

I actually have been using a pedometer. 🙂

An average day in the office i walk between 3,000 to 6,000 steps.

On a weekend i can walk as much as 2,0000 steps.

Hope this helps.
