Had a rather carby dinner tonight and thought I'd better check my BGs even though I was feeling fine. I expected to be fairly high given the pasta bake I'd had but no, the reading was 3.0 and no symptoms till after I tested. A slice of toast and jam and 20 minutes later I'm all shaky and shivering. Latest test though says 4.5. What on earth is going on?

I had exactly the same problem last night didn't really get any symptoms except for feeling nauseous and was 2.1 when I checked it scared me really! So I completely sympathise

Them hypos must be catching 😱 I had one just after my evening meal as well.

Pasta and what? Was it fatty?

No, not really. My own passata sauce with grilled chicken and veggies added to the pasta. It's just my weird diabetes playing games with me. I've been battling hypos all day today, none serious, but still irritating.

Have you got a small reserve of your own insulin that sometimes gets used by your body? I get low bg weeks about once every three months. A mini honeymoon period - it's so annoying!

Probably. As a T1.5 I still make some insulin at the moment and it's impossible to predict what will happen from one our to the next. I had a whole two weeks recently when my BGs were remarkably stable, but now things are back to normal for me... all over the place.
