Hello all.
Gosh, it’s been a LONG time since I posted anything here. (Eris is 5 next month and Orin was 2 in Feb…I know right? Where has the time gone?)
So my HBA1C currently sits at 63. It was 61 pretty much all of last year. I’m still taking metformin (two twice a day) and 25mg empagliflozin daily. However my rubbish willpower recently means I’ve been eating rubbish and unable to get the levels or weight down much.
My diabetic nurse is wanting to push the levels down into the 50s so has prescribed a GLP1 (Ozempic) which I am literally about to start.
My question is…do I start it in the morning tomorrow or is it best to do the first shot tonight and potentially sleep through any nausea? I’m expecting to feel a bit rough on the early days (potentially for a long time as I know and have been reading up on side effects)
I’m really hoping this works and helps me drop weight as well as improving my bloods. I’ve lost half a stone this week through illness but now I’m feeling much better I want to crack on and get this journey started
Also…any tips for work? I’m back on Wednesday following the Easter holidays and work in a busy classroom of non verbal children with autism. Should be fun if I’m feeling nauseous all day!
