Starting on insulin

Got the call from DSN to go in on wednesday she is going to start me on insulin so fingers crossed i have better luck with this then i had with byetta and other pills.

No not yet but she said some thing about 4 injections depends on my eating
regime might be 2 instead,sorry if this doe'nt make much sense think my brain has gone into meltdown.

Im just putting my script for test strips in and was just wondering if i should ask for extra strips in preperation for starting insulin this week.

I'd suggest you ask your team about carb counting from the start. That way you'll be able to work out how your body uses the insulin at different times of the day in relation to how much carbohydrate you ate.

Writing stuff down can help you to spot patterns too, and give you a list of what's worked and what hasn't in the past.

Yeah would be good to have some extra test strips if they will let you get them so you can do some extra testing.
