Sir Frederick Banting won earthly honours after discovering insulin ? a Nobel Prize, knighthood and a spot on the Top 10 list of famous Canadians.

He also got a posthumous honour out of this world, on the moon.

Monday, star-gazers will get a chance to see the crater named after Banting at the London home where he first came up with the idea for insulin.

The Banting House National Historic Site is recognizing the 40th anniversary of the naming by inviting people view the crater through telescopes, with expert help.

?It should be a good night for the moon. If we?re going to see it, the moon is in a perfect place,? Rick Saunders, president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada?s London Centre branch, said Sunday.
