A STAFFORDSHIRE boy is backing a national campaign to improve support in school for children with Type 1 diabetes.

Lewis Sherwood, ten, from Brinsford, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of four. He travelled to Westminster with his mother Zoe and father Andy, as part of a reception held by Diabetes UK.

The charity has been running a campaign to raise awareness of a new law, which means all schools in England are legally required to provide support that children with medical conditions, such as Type 1 diabetes, need.
