I haven't a clue...but if it's been there for a few months you need to have it checked out. Better safe than sorry mate.

Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me what this numb red spot on my foot is please?

The spot itself is numb but the area around it feels normal.

It has been there a few months now and I initially thought it was a bite.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Hi gobbly2100, welcome to the forum 🙂 It looks like it may be where your shoe is rubbing, but you should definitely get it checked out - can't be too careful with these things! Certainly, after a few months I would be worrying - has it got any worse in that time? Have you been diagnosed long? Do you get your regular foot checks?

Sorry for all the questions! 🙂

If you weren't diabetic I'd have said try a change of footwear for a week or two as it looks as though its your shoe, but a quick visit to your GP or practise nurse would be sensible don't you think?
A stitch in time and all that ........

As the others have suggested a trip to the surgery is called for, regular foot checks are an essential part of diabetic care. I'd also agree that your footwear may be at fault and you should ensure that there is no pressure at the point of contact.

Definately get it checked out and don't poke at it 🙂
Possibly a callus forming over the knuckle? A shoe rubbing?

Have it checked by your doctor, just to rule everything out
