i'm going to do a basal test as i think my background isnt right over the weekend (less chance of me ripping someone's head off with no food).

as i'm on a split dose of glargine am worried if that would mess up the test?

can anyone advise?

thanking you in advance

I don't think that really matters, provided you haven't recently changed dose, so within the last few days...

Its when you come to make changes and want to record the effect of the changes........you will need to wait a few days....

I think whatever your basal system (one injection evening... one injection morning... split...) a basal test will just help you understand whether your basal is only doing 'basal' things - ie holding you steady, or is falling short/running over in which case you are probably compensating with meal doses/ratios... possibly without even realising it!

I personally think it's falling short as I do have to compensate in a morning with extra fast acting.

Well by Sunday lunch I will know
