Hi all,
I wondered f you have any helpful tips for me?
I've recently changed from My usual breakfast of porridge, to low carb, usually eggs.
I'm getting BG spikes after having a zero carb breakfast, and I'm not sure why.
For example, this morning my waking BG was 7.9, (higher than ideal but I hypo'd before bed so suspect the jelly babies kept it up through the night)
Anyway, for breakfast I had 3 eggs with spinach, feta cheese cooked with some butter. I gave myself 1iu at the time (I'm 1iu to bring down by 3mmol). 2 hours later I'm 10.9
I've just taken a correction, but I'm confused as to why this keeps happening.
I take 20iu Lantus at nighttime, and this seems to hold by BG steady through the rest of the day, (I have low carb throughout the day too).
Any ideas anyone?
Morning phenomenon maybe?
Thanks guys,
Vic xx
