do any of you lovely ladies have problems with these? I am starting to notice a prevelance of them on my legs, particularly the back of my calves. They're not hugely noticeable at least to others but I know they're there and they're making me really self conscious - so much so me and skirts are becoming worst enemies!

More so, how do you get rid of them?? And is it normal for us girls to have them, even at the age of 23 like I am?

Orrible nasty things :(

I've had these all my life, even when I was a skinny size 8 :( (not quite so skinny now!!)

I was about 14-15 when I started to notice them. I believe they're hereditary; my Mum also got them when she was quite young. I'm 36 now and I just tend to ignore them - my legs only see the light of day when I'm away on holiday :D

You can get laser treatment to get them removed, but I've never really looked into it. As it's classed as cosmetic, I'm sure it would cost a few quid to get rid of the ones on my legs!!

I have them on my legs. For about the last 15 years I have spent my life in trousers unless I am not going out. I don't take any notice of them since they are not causing problems and no one else seems to notice. Do you wear tights or stockings? The thicker ones or the opaque ones are quite good at covering stuff up if you want to wear skirts or dresses.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't some unction or other which could be used to mask them when out and about?

Andy 🙂

I have them and large bulgy varicose veins. I have had them a good few years. I only where maxi skirts or short skirts with opaque black tights. I have mentioned them to the docs a couple of times, bot as they don't hurt they are not interested.

Me too, had them since my teens, few extra with each pregnancy, don't think you can get rid of them other than by laser :( tights or a bit of fake tan with a skirt i'm afraid !

You used to be able to have em injected with summat, cos I had quite a few done in my 30's so that's err, 5 years ago (and the other 20 .... )

Expensive .... and weird. About a month after she'd 'killed' one, you'd get a load of powdery 'dead skin' come up on the outside of yer leg where the vein had been. You brushed it off and that was that!

Ex nurse who'd packed it up to have her family then in middle age opened a beauty salon at her home in Wombourne, recommended to me by the girlies at the salon I used to have me nails done .....

My parents lived in Wombourne once. Nice cricket field in the village centre and close to a great set of canal stair locks. 🙂

I have a couple on the inside my right knee that have been there about 20 years, I did mention it the doctor a few years ago but he said not to worry unless they start to grow. I haven't bothered with them since as they haven't changed, aren't all that visible and don't hurt or anything.

PS It hurt

PPS Andy - very very naice house, down a lane - with a paddock and stables ! Very Hyacinth Bucket ...... 'room for a pony' :D
