I had my annual eye test today, for the first time I've had to be prescribed specs. My optician thinks it is because of everything else going on in my body, my eyes are struggling a bit to cope, so I now have to wear glasses for work. My eldest daughter was really pleased I had to wear glasses as she wanted to choose some for me - but ending up choosinig the most expensive ones 😱. Thankfully I managed to persuade her that I looked better in another pair (still shocked at the price of those though). My youngest daughter is delighted as now mummy wears glasses like her - and she found some green ones for herself! 🙂

The sexiest people wear glasses don't you know :D

Oh definitely :D

If your glasses are for use with a computer at work, your employer should pay a contribution to the cost. You will have to check the procedure with your HR department and get confirmation from the optician.

I have some stunning glasses but oddly my eyes have corrected the problem :(

But by wearing glasses you have specs appeal 😛

Before I was officially diagnosed I went for an eye test, they said they don't know about the diabetes but I do need glasses, it broke me, I had good eyes was one of my (few) strengths, they asked what frame I had no idea so said I'll bring the wife in tomorrow! Sometimes I am useless! So I got the glasses wore them when I had to for 3 days, went out in town up kingscross way and was a bit dizzy on the tube, had a few drinks, come saturday morning, no need for glasses at all, weird!

Sorry for ramble, just thought I'd share!

Cheers

Ross (who for 3 days had specs appeal!)

I'll look into that tomorrow then, I work for a very small company though.

Your rights are written into employment law, DSE regulations (Display Screen Equipment). Expect about ?50 toward the cost.

That would be fantastic!

My work also does that. They used to use certain named opticians in Glasgow and a few months ago the contract changed to Specsavers. Woohoo, my opticians so from this year they pay ?65 toward ours. That will save me a wee bit and if I wait till they have an offer like 2 for 1 or free reaction lenses....even better! :D
