#rugbyleague #nrl #Manly stars Brett Stewart and David Williams have joined creative forces to design a one-of-a-kind playing jersey for this weekend's Diabetes Round match against the Knights.
The players hope the design, which features a heart-shaped snake on one sleeve and vertical maroon and white stripes, will help raise awareness of type 1 diabetes.
The snake, in reference to Stewart's nickname, also features on the front of a limited edition fashion T-shirt to be sold on game day (Sunday, August 19) at Brookvale Oval. Proceeds from T-shirt sales will go towards diabetes education programs and subsidising the cost of insulin pumps for families.
Stewart, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 14, said it's a cause close to his heart.
