I seem to be getting some bruising round the injections sites on my tummy lately. I've always bruised easily, but a 5mm needle shouldn't be leaving such large marks. It doesn't hurt when I do the jab, it's all rather odd.

Any ideas anyone?

is it in an area where you have lumps under the skin from injecting?

i've felt my tummy but cant feel any lumps but my consultant said i had a lot in the more meaty part of my tummy.

my legs are now starting to bruise & they never did previously.

do you rotate your injection sites? Can't come up with a better idea.

Yup, always. I work clockwise round my middle and up and down my thighs. Never use the same spot two jabs in a row. That's why I'm so puzzled.

Just wondering if you have recently started on any medications that might cause it? I know when I was on clopidogrel I used to bruise more.

Just the Victoza jab in January and the new pills yesterday. The bruising started about two weeks ago.

Sounds like it might be the pills. If they are to thin the blood then they may be causing the bruising. Hope it settles down soon.

No, they're an anti-inflammatory to deal with pain from Rheumatoid arthritis and something to deal with the side effects of the anti-Is. Luckily for me, high blood pressure is not a problem I have to worry about. I'm completely stumped.

I go through periods of bruising and then don't have any for ages and ages. I think you might just be unlucky and clipping a capilliary when injecting.

Sometimes I bruise others I dont, always massive when i do bruise though mid you im using 8mm novo twists so gotta expect some damage lol.

Anti-inflammatories can make you more prone to bleeding and bruising so I would suspect they are the cause

Yes, but I've only been on those for two days and I've been noticing the bruising for a couple of weeks.

Have no solutions but just want to agree that sometimes I bruise for no obvious reason. have you just started a new box of needles? If so try one from a different batch if possible just in case they are dodgy.

Ahah, yes I had started a new box, and the first one was a dud. Maybe that's it. I do have another box so I'll try them instead and report back.
