sorry i haven't been on for a while what i thought was an infection of some kind turned out to be TIA left side with classic droop of the mouth.

when i found out yesterday in hospital it scared me silly as my partner had the full stroke along with TIA so as soon as i spotted the droop at home i knew i was in real trouble and called an ambulance they knew straight away with what they saw and was rushed to hospital.

i saw the stroke doctors and then other doctors doing various tests and then the big boss who told me the shocking news that i had suffered a few TIA was nearly in tears as i had flash backs then to my partner.

i have been prescribed something called Attia as i am allergic to Aspirin and have to attend to stroke clinic and be blown in the same place as my partner was taken so that is going to be a heart gutting time, many will know i lost my partner not to strokes but to covid so as i type this tears are in my eyes.

when i am up to it i will be on and off the forum but even when i am not on the forum i still check the messages.

Sorry to hear this @mikeydt1 :(

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hope the stroke clinic can give you effective support.

Aw @mikeydt1 that's a lot for you to go through. Do you have any other support around you in terms of friends/family?

Sending lots of good vibes your way and hoping this medication will sort you out. Take care Mikey.

Best wishes for a full recovery Mikey. Take care.

Sorry to read this @mikeydt1 You’ve had so much to deal with recently. I can understand how hard it is having to be where your partner was.

I hope the stroke clinic helps you and you recover quickly.

Sorry to hear of your TIA, the drug you have been prescribed is an anticlotting medication. My OH had a TIA 5 years ago and has had to take a similar medication ever since. No repeat thank goodness but as you say very scary at the time.
I hope you receive good care.

many thanks for the kind get well wishes.

i just logged in to patient access and the report back confirmed as Transient cerebral ischaemia

Paul once i get my full strength back then i will get some more quizzes set up for the daring out there to get their teeth in to

Sorry to hear you are crook again @mikeydt1 :( I'm not surprised though because you've been through so much.

Looking forward to the quizzes. :D

Sorry to hear what you have been going through, hope you are well on the way to recovering.

Take Care.

So sorry to hear your news @mikeydt1 . Best wishes for your recuperation.

went for a lay down took the phone with me and out of the blue gets the phone call from the stroke clinic seeing them for this coming Monday. time to face the where it all began for my poor partner. the lady in the clinic has been informed so will be expecting a few nerves but need to get this done for my own health now.

many thanks for all the well wishes. this forum has been here for me and i hope i can be here for others in the future who need a little advice or just some support.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been in the wars again, @mikeydt1, but pleased you're being seen promptly.

Sending best wishes Mikeydt1 - glad you have an appointment next week.

something to make members cringe on here. yesterday while in hospital i didn't have a canula in and because i was so dizzy they only had to give me an injection in to my arm muscle. the needle was huge to say the least, the nurse said it would hurt and believe my arm muscle is killing me think it is worse than the vaccines with the sore arms, ouch or should i say scream.

I'm sorry to hear this, sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery x

So sorry to hear your news @mikeydt1 you have certainly had some problems these past couple of years and I’m sad for it. I hope Monday goes well for you and you cope with your emotions. Accepting you may be upset will prepare you for it I’m sure and please let us know how you get on. Take care and big hugs to you x

many thanks to all Granny nice to see you back and Sue i promise to be back on with an update. will be interesting to go as this is something new to me, strangely my partner wasn't asked to attend such a clinic even though a full blown stroke had took place.
