In 2018 I had a well woman check up and everything was fine my HbA1c was 41 with no concerns.
Forward to March 2021 and my GP phoned to tell me that I was now prediabetic, my HbA1c was 44 after a routine blood test. I was really surprised and upset as I have a massive sweet tooth and the thought of cutting out all my sweet treats was terrible.
My GP put me on the Diabetes prevention programme and that really didn't help as they never really explained that you have to cut your carbs as well as sugary treats. Thankfully I discovered this website and joined the forum and have found it so helpful.
Well after nearly 2 years my HbA1c is now back to 41! I'm so happy and intend to continue eating my new type of diet and maybe lowering it more. Thanks for all who have helped me.
