I have 94 carbs but no idea how much insulin to take, my maths is all wrong. my ratio ius 5units to every 10 of carbs. but i managed to work it out I should be taking 19 units.... when writing this down in my diary I realised its wrong but I don't know where or how .

Hi Lou,
Are you sure your ratio is right? This is a huge amount of insulin?

94 divided by 10 then times by 5 = 47 units!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you absolutely sure this is your ratio?😱Bev

Yup pretty sure, I've always needed bucket loads of insulin to make a difference

Ok - then the easiest way of working it out is to change it to 1 unit for every 2 carbs. It means the same - its just an easier way of working it out. I hope i am right about this as maths is not my strong point!🙂Bev

Bev you are right with the maths,
Lou using the 1 unit for 2 grams of carbs all you need to do is half the amount, sorry if that's obvious! So 94 divided by 2 is 47
Lou hope you have good levels afterwards, keep us posted!
