Every year we go to the Greek islands snorkeling for a couple of weeks. My wife and I like the out of the way places as far from the tourist traps as possible. We know of several beautiful secluded beaches where you wont meet anybody all day. These are usually reached by a half hour walk through olive groves and across rock formations a good way from the village we are staying at. So far I hav'nt had a Hypo but I always take two hypo stops, Mars bars and sugar in our cool bag with two bottles of wine and home made baguettes. My main worry (after forgetting the bottle opener) is stepping onto something sharp, that's why I wear my flip flops into the water. I then snorkel the area to check out the sea bed looking for urchins which could get you a visit to the hospital. I have never told the holiday insurance this but they may class our activity as dangerous as a Hypo that far out wouldnt be good news that's why I keep above 5 on the hypometer. What do you think about disclosing this?

I would say disclose it. There's no way they'd pay out if you don't.

Also, wine will lower your blood glucose. And mars bars and sugar aren't the best hypo treatment. But the hypo stops is good. Lecture over! 🙄

IMO (which has been formed from experience and other members' opinions), coke is the best quick hypo treatment. Especially after/during exercise. You could also have a load of jelly babies for top ups.

Sounds idyllic. I've never fancied snorkelling, but then locally it's a bit less inviting.:D
