I'm now nine weeks in since I started testing twice a day. This morning I worked out the average HbA1c over the nine weeks and it has come down from a high of 69 to 45.3. I realise this is only based on my readings but it shows an improvement which will hopefully carry on to my next (real) HbA1c in May. I've cut out pasta and bread, and reduced my rice and potato intake drastically. I've also cut out beer, lager, and fizzy soft drinks, but have increased the red wine and whisky a little!!
Yes it's a struggle, but I've found a lot of support on here, and from my GP and DN. I collected my bag full of drugs yesterday, and the size of the bag made me even more determined to get off the meds ASAP.
