Snack inspiration please!

Must be going over some seriously old ground here but please help a tired brain out. Sugars have been stubbornly high all day. Not stupidly so but low teens since late morning in spite of an additional 2u on top of my normal 4u for standard lunch at work. Now of course they're heading south and I want to nudge up before I head to bed. I love bananas but soooo bored of them recently. Brown bread is a maybe but grateful for any other thoughts for some variety if anyone happens to be up and reading

I usually go for a cracker or digestive with a slice of cheddar on it. The cheese slows down the absorption of the carbs.
I haven't thought of digestives for ages, I'll stock up for next time thank you

Nuts? Seeds? Olives? Chunk o cheese? Apple?

Fresh cream eclairs are about 10g for one of those 4-pack ones...

I generally find it less faff not to need to bolus for nibbles, which cuts back on options somewhat!

Great! I like all of those. I thought cheese was basically fat though and not much carb?

But real winner on chocolate éclairs as an idea....

That's cheered me up a bit actually. This evening I had a sort of resigned to it, frustrated type of hypo. To be fair I just got my bolus wrong but you know when they just hit you hard?

Yep! The only one I’d bolus for in that initial list is the apple (15g-ish of carb depending on size/variety).

I can even chance an eclair without bolus some days, especially if going out for a stroll.

All snacks have to be seen as part of the overall mix I think. So too many, and too often a) makes me hungrier and b) makes me put on weight.

As a child I was a biscuit fiend. Can’t polish off a packet without thinking about it any more!

I think Mumpie_olgran's original post was specifically about a late night snack that would give levels a bit of a boost before bed, hence my suggestion of a digestive with the cheese. I find cheese on its own works well at night, though, because the body converts some of the protein to carb, but much more steadily, so this can work as a late night booster

Ahhhhhh! Somehow my brain had edited that sentence out, and made it about general snacking. Sorry @Mumpie_olgran

Biscuits it is then. With a jelly baby chaser :D

I find those naked bars to be tasy and slow release, though i eat then in quarters
