Yes I think if it became a serious consideration then I shall, for now I'd still need to persuade OH anyway, he says 2 is plenty :D lol.

Would be next year at the earliest anyway so I'll sit on it for now but might raise it out of curiosity if my dsn has time to chat next time I see her!

I know what you mean laura. The SS does just involve being on a drip right? No horrible big needles?! When I was last in hospital on a ward I could hear everything going on mext to me too, unfortunately the lady next to me was dying, the doctor was telling the family she only had a few hours left. Not a good experience.

One of the thing I too hate about hospitals is hearing everything in surrounding beds. :( When I was in hospital in December 2007 (because the asthma I've had since the early 1980s finally developed into full-blown OSA, though that's not why I was admitted) there was a young man (late teens or early 20s), coincidentally also called Robert (there was at one time three Roberts on the ward), and his mum was arguing with him about a huge (mobile phone?) bill he'd run up, of over ?600! 😱 So I decided that this was a good time to go for a walk (fortunately I could do so without leaving the ward, and it kept me out of earshot of that bay)...

When I was on a sliding scale (in June last year) it didn't bother me, as to me it was just another drip to add to the ones I was already on. I remember that they tested me at least once in the middle of the night when I was supposed to be asleep (presumably at or around 3am)...
