Hello everyone.
I'm just looking for some advice about skin infections on the site where the omnipod has been.
My little boy (8 years old) has this on his leg and it is very sore to touch and the skin is hot to touch too. Last time he had one of these he had to go on antibiotics but until I can get him to the doctors I am wondering if you guys have any advice in the mean time? I've put some anti septic cream on it to try help. It's affected his bloods as his bloods have been up at 25mmol.

I took the omnipod off about 3 hours ago as it needed changing, and this is what has come up in the mean time.
Any advice would be great.

Thank you. X

Hmm sorry can’t be much help. I have had a funny patch when I tried omnipod on my leg once and don’t normally if it’s on tummy or arm. But I just put it down to a funny reaction and didn’t read too much more into it. I definitely didn’t have high sugars resulting

Sorry not to be more help

If it’s infected, he needs antibiotics ASAP @lozboz25 Site infections can form abscesses. Can you get him to an out of hours doctor?

Ouch...poor wee lad, that looks sore. I think I would dial 111 and get their advice ....they may well bring out antibiotics this evening.
