I phoned the surgery today to book an appointment for a six month diabetes review.
For the three month one, I booked the blood test first, then another appointment with a nurse to go through the blood test results a couple of weeks later. The receptionist booked a single appointment with a health care assistant to take the blood and do the foot tickling, and no follow up appointment.
I hoped that I could get the nurse to go through the test results with me, but I guess I'll look them up online or phone reception for them and then google them to see what they mean? Or book a phone appointment with a nurse to review them?
The receptionist seemed very flustered, forgot to ask me my name so she could get my records up and inferred the previous person on the phone had been difficult and unpleasant, so I understand that she was a bit distracted.
Should I get a follow up appointment after the bloods have been analysed or just do my best googling when the results come in?
