Silly Question?

Hi This May Seem A Silly Question But Does Anyone Suffer From Dry Hands And Particulary Cracked Nuckles And Creases Of Fingers Splitting? Also I Have A Deep Burning Pain On The Top Of My Left Foot Which Started Before I Was Diagnosed With Type 1 In December Is It Nything To Worry About? Karen

Hi Karen, thats not a silly question i suffer from really dry hands too that crack and bleed no matter how much moisturiser i slather on i wasnt sure if it was linked to diabetes or not . I would have your feet checked out by your doctor just incase there is something wrong its always better to be safe than sorry no matter how small or silly it seems .

My skin tends to be very dry too, but it has been this way as longs as I can remember.

Get the foot checked out just in case, but it is probably related to the dry skin else where. I find unscented moisturiser helps, although neutrogena is very good. Occaisionaly if my hands are feeling sore I use a little anitsceptic cream.

You can also get special gloves to use at bed time from good chemists. The idea is you put handcream or moisturiser on at bed time and put the gloves on and the cream does its work overnight.

I have a problem with dry cracked skin that is very much connected with high BS levels. It usually goes away when my control improves.

I don't have any problems with my feet though so could only repeat what others have said about getting it checked by a doctor.
