Hi All,

This might sound stupid but for the last few years i've been considering whether or not i should get tested or not for T2. Especially as my ma has this particular type.

I've just taken the Diabetes riskscore online at the Diabetes UK website and my results was an increased risk of developing it.

Should i get properly tested just to be safe?

It might be worth it, just to put your mind at rest.

yes definitely, if anything....just to put your mind at rest 😉

I would say it depends on whether you feel you have any symptoms - do you? Otherwise you would just be taking up an appointment slot that someone else might have been glad of. Some pharmacies will do a test for you 🙂

When I was diagnosed I did get my sister to get herself tested because my diagnosis came right out of the blue (no diabetes in the family) - she was fine 🙂

I feel that if you are worried you should get yourself tested. However, I took the test on the Diabetes UK website recently (I'm on tablets and insulin) and came out as low risk, so try not to be too worried about your 'increased risk'. Good luck - hope all is well for you. 🙂
