l am a shift worker always thinking of what to take to work which will not effect my sugars,l have to admit that the often mentioned bread Burgen is really hard to enjoy,l am trying the German Rye Bread this week with Peanut Butter any suggestions please.

Salads and soups can be low carbohydrate, but unless a food causes your blood glucose to raise significantly 2 hours after eating, there's no need to avoid.

There are loads of lunch box ideas, but it would be really helpful to understand what you like to eat, and also a little about your owrk environment; whether you have access to a microwave for heating, and/or a fridge to keel "stuff" cool.

Can I just ask - what is considered a significant rise after eating? How close to the before meal test should I be looking to be after a meal?
