Maureen Jamieson was 11 years old when she was diagnosed with diabetes 50 years ago and has been on insulin ever since.
Last week. she got a gift from Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. in partnership with the Headwaters Health Care Centre?s Diabetes Management Team ? a limited edition print of The Banting Museum by artist David Harrington.
?Diabetes prior to insulin was a deadly disease. People died, and being on something that you inject multiple times a day and still being alive and well is a big deal,? said Frances Jamison, RD, CDE, of the Headwaters Diabetes Management Team.
