The wife, that is. How could she! How many carbs in one Hob Nob? 11.2g you say? Oh well, what the hell.:D

my husband has an annoying habit of eating things like that without even noticing. I sometimes wonder if I asked him 2 minutes later if he had eaten a biscuit, or how many he had, he would be quite unable to tell me - as to asking what they tasted like - no chance!

You're a poet and don't know it.

Come on, Steph, admit it. Type 1s count the carbs, shove in a bit of insulin and eat the biscuit.😉

Come on Mark....take the biscuit away from the brew!
It's the only carbs I'm having all day. Breakfast, lunch & dinner today are virtually carb free.🙂

I can't be critical though, especially not today. I had my second (SMALL) piece of cake since diagnosis....it is averaging one piece of cake every three months, so I'm not beating myself up about it too much.

Ah but no, ye see, no. It might look that way, but like yer swan (all serene on top, paddling like mad underneath) there's a lot of angst and higher math going on between the ears... 1 hobnob:umpty units, but what if I have another? Do I add the same again? Will it be too much/not enough? Is that blasted Diabetes Fairy lurking round the corner waiting to wave her wand? Can I stop at just the one? Oh no, they're the caramel ones, that's umpty more units and one is never enough. Maybe I should rethink this? Sod it, I'm having a biscuit.

I'm sure the mental exercise of the maths will burn off much of the sugar intake that came with that biscuit anyway!

It's simple - just do some exercise. Eat as much (well alright then within reason) sugary s***e as you want, no bolus insulin needed and it fuels whatever you're doing and just burns right off. 🙂
