Hi all,

This may be a long shot but if there is anyone on this forum from Edinburgh how do you dispose of your sharps bins?

I have stored in my flat well over 20 of them as I was self isolating for a while. I have tried my surgery but no, local pharmacies have said no apart from maybe taking 1 every now and again. Got in touch with the local council and the blunt answer from them was try the yellow pages. Any help appreciated

That is weird. Someone must be able to take them.

I know that it varies a lot. For us I have a local authority number to phone when I have a full box and it is collected and replaced. I hope someone can enlighten you for the rules in your area.

I have read the odd post can't remember where they were expected to pay for collection of sharps bins. Could the problem be you have so many to collect?

I would contact your local MP and ask them to investigate the issue as you have clearly tried to resolve it yourself and failed and it is a public health issue.
