Its really difficult to write a ranty post when you are still suffering another low blood suger, i am sure that it will all make no sense lol....

I started this year with such high hopes of getting basel testing under way tightening up my control and and getting my act togeather, and I have no control. I keep getting lows in the night and ladies week is a nightmare sorry lads...

I think any one of the following is dropping me but I am fed up now it could be:
1) Fluroxitine - Has anyone else noticed its effect on insulin
2) Weight loss - About a stone no needing or meaning too....
3) Weather

Or all of the above...

Sorry just needs a rant you would think after 7 years I would have got the hang of it by now :(

Weight loss will make you need less insulin (it does with me)
Weather is another for needing more insulin when cold/less when hot.
I don't know what that medication is that you mentioned.

Ladies week should be banned or transferred to men so they can deal with it for once 🙂

You have the right to rant & you more than likely have the hang of it, life just puts spanners in the works.

Cheers Laura, Its ok the medication is an anti-depressant it was / is supposed to make me a better person its just making me a crappy diabetic if it's one of my contributing factors for all these lows....

So far since Jan I have dropped my basel from 16 to 10 thats just weird...

I think I need to start again tomorrow, after hopefully my mammouth sleep tonight that I hope isnt interrupted by a hypo - One side effect of these tablets that I dont mind is they make you sleep for ages and a lie in is a lie in like when you were a kid till lunch time 🙂

From memory when I was on anti depressants, they played havoc with my body & bloods so you might be right there.

God I need those pills! I don't sleep so well anymore due to my paranoia of hypos in my sleep.

Just put it down as an off day & tomorrow is another day to kick diabetes ass 🙂

Vanessa, honestly don't feel bad for ranting (I could write pages right now on how much I hate diabetes!!!) I have the opposite problem to you, I can't get rid of my highs and just when I thought changing my basal to night time might help me (the last day and a half was perfect readings) it threw a huge spanner in the works and I'm now at 15.4 and ready to bite everybody's head off... After 18+ years I'm still struggling to work it out and am in floods of tears as I write this as I have had enough - please somebody take it away from me!!!

Ladies week always sends my bloods out and a few days before, so let's make that nearly a third of the month 😉 Weather has an affect on my sugars but not a huge amount unless really hot/cold... and I haven't lost weight so can't comment on that one!

I think after a good night's sleep and hopefully good waking bloods you will feel ready to face the world again tomorrow 🙂 Hope you both feel better tomorrow!

Big hugs

Xx

Hi Vanessa,
have you had your thyroid and cortisol levels checked? If not well worth doing so,
Hope you are soon sorted.
