Can people using them tell me how accurate they are please as swopping over to the 640 at the beginning of August. Ta very much.

I’ve used them off and on for a few years now. Their reputation is not as good as Dexcom, but I think that’s largely because users in the states were comparing earlier versions, and older transmitters.

I generally find they give me very accurate levels, including when restarted, for 12 days. Sometimes they start to get a bit flaky around 10 days.

I’m currently using back if arm (you need a friend to help with starting/restarting) and it is slightly more reliable and very accurate for me. Usually within 0.5mmol/L - 1.0mmol/L except when BG is changing rapidly, obviously.

Hope you get on well with them, the automation of Smartguard on the MM640G is a huge benefit for me, especially overnight, but relieves a lot of burden and alarm nag during the day too. I mostly have alarms set to silent and just let it do it’s thing unless I reach 3.9.

There are some tables at the bottom of this post to give you a bit of detail if interested.

For me, in this sample made as a comparison to a standalone CGM also using Enlite sensors the MM640G gave 65% readings that were either identical, or within 0.5mmol/L.

Hi Mike,
thanks for the info. 🙂 Must admit to being completely confused about the CGM for the 640 as have seen the sensors called different names from what I understood it was the Enlite sensors for the 640 yet the rep is calling them something else.

Please do note it doesn't take a lot to confuse me these day 🙂

The latest sensors and transmitter are the Guardian Sensor 3 https://www.medtronicdiabetes.com/products/guardian-sensor-3

I'm swapping to them in the middle of June when my pump is replaced. I've found the Enlites to be pretty accurate increasingly so during the unofficial 6-ish days extra from each sensor after recharging the transmitter and restarting the old sensor. They have kept me conscious without hypo awareness so I do have trust in them. I think the Guardian 3 sensors last for 7 days but beyond that I'll find out in the next few weeks and update .

Yes it is a bit confusing. Guardian 3 is the new transmitter. I still use the old Enlite/Guardian (that was the transmitter I self funded), but new people are likely to go on the new Guardian3’s which are supposed to be more accurate, but I’ve not tried them yet.

Both work with the MM640 or MM670 pumps.

Ah ok that's where the confusion is 🙂 I believe that's what the rep was trying to explain to me.
Thanks @Flower and @everydayupsanddowns
