Search facility on this site

Hi all. Just now, reading the thread about 'what do you wish you'd known on diagnosis', I wanted to follow up the comment about understanding GI, timing of injections and so on. But if you search using a term that's fewer than 4 characters (eg. GI) it won't let you (says the term is too short). I've come across this problem before, eg. MDI, low blood sugar, T1, type 1 so it's quite annoying! Putting your search string in double quotes solves it to some extent, but that can be restrictive because you only get matches for your exact words. Is there anything the forum admin people can do to improve the search facility? Would love to go back to old posts before asking questions that might have been answered already. Thanks.

The problem with reducing the search to below 4 characters is that it becomes very server intensive, which would then affect everyone using the forum. Robert@fm came up with a possible alternative - using the Google 'site' keyword e.g. to search for GI:

site:www.diabetessupport.co.uk " GI "
