I am torn between plain with cream and cheese sconesLove those! Nothing beats a good cream scone..... except maybe a cheese scone with butter and a mug of hot chocolate!
I am afraid I am totally decadent, if I am going to have a cream scone I might as well go the whole hog and have a fruit scone with jam and cream. It is a bit of a dim and distant memory for me since diagnosis though, as is the cheese scone with a hot chocolate. I have very happy memories of various cafes and canteens around the north east where I have had a good cheese scone in my past life.I am torn between plain with cream and cheese scones
When you say he doesn't have a problem no matter what he eats. Can you explain what you mean by not having a problem? I am guessing he is on medication for his diabetes?my hubby is the chef and makes wonderful scones, and his warm cheese scones don't last long our daughter and her boyfriend who lives with us devour them in no time, as well as hubby, even though he is T2 he never has a problem no matter what he eats
No he isn't on any medication he stopped taking it about a year ago, he does finger pricks morning and before meals he has low constant readings all the time, we do eat well and have a good diet but he can eat bread, rice, pasta etc and has no spikes other than what you would expect 2 hours after a meal. When you say he doesn't have a problem no matter what he eats. 100% cheese scone for the win over any others (cheese and wholegrain mustard is nice too)Love those! Nothing beats a good cream scone..... except maybe a cheese scone with butter and a mug of hot chocolate!
My cheese and leek scones are just a small variation on the standard cheese scone recipe. I add a finely chopped raw leek to the mixture at the same time as I add the cheese.saw a video of someone making cheese and leek scones a couple of weeks ago which i want to try but haven't made yet.
You wouldn’t really expect that much spike by 2 hrs after a meal. The targets for t2 are 4-7 before meals and under 8.5 at 2hrs after a mealNo he isn't on any medication he stopped taking it about a year ago, he does finger pricks morning and before meals he has low constant readings all the time, we do eat well and have a good diet but he can eat bread, rice, pasta etc and has no spikes other than what you would expect 2 hours after a meal.
