According to a new study, bioadhesive coating improves the intestinal absorption into the bloodstream of nanoparticles. Bloodstream of the nanoparticles is believed to someday carry protein drugs such as insulin.

Brown University developed the bioadhesive coating that significantly improved the intestinal absorption into the bloodstream of nanoparticles in a study. This will lead drugs to be effectively taken by mouth, instead of injecting directly into the blood.
