A teacher at Rye College in East Sussex was recorded suggesting a pupil who refused to accept her classmate was a cat that she was despicable.

Gillian Keegan, the Education Secretary, is understood to have ordered an investigation into the Church of England school.

The Telegraph has revealed that at other schools teachers are allowing children to identify as horses, dinosaurs and even moons.

On Tuesday Downing Street told headteachers that they should not be teaching children that they can identify as cats or other animals.

Children identifying as cats are wearing ‘tails and ears’ in class, Britain’s toughest headteacher has warned.

Katharine Birbalsingh cautioned that adult authority ‘is long gone’ as more children are being allowed to identify as animals in school.

Things have got to be really desperate when it comes to finding things to distract from the economic situation when the Mail and Telegraph come up with stuff like this.

Just kids winding up teachers, I suspect.

Probably lots of them, yes. What I was shocked at was the unprofessional, bullying tone of the teacher allegedly involved. That and their lack of knowledge.

From last year,

Yes, the story on that recording was the unprofessional reaction and comments of the teacher. Whether there was a pupil identifying as a cat or not, the reaction of the teacher was shocking.

Right.
Kitty Krunch for lunch then.
It is, I am told, perfectly safe for Humans.
I know several retired teachers - all took early retirement or resigned due to despair at the disrespect they encountered.
