Hi all,

I just wanted to share this with you! I went to see Alex's teachers before about his progress - i havent spoken to them since his diagnosis - and they tell me he is on target - and he should achieve the results that were expected of him pre - diagnosis!
It is such a relief that he is getting back to the same academic level as before (he's a bright kid).
The other news is - he has a girlfriend! But i do have a question for you - obviously he is very happy at the moment - but will the sudden love interest alter his levels at all?( i know he is only 10!) I know that exams etc.. can cause high levels if your anxious - but what about other feelings?!🙂 Bev ( a very proud mum today):D

Sheesh! I don't know - 10 years old? I was at least 12 before I got my first girlfriend!

Well done to Alex on keeping up his achievements during a very strange and disruptive period of his life. And well done to you too, Bev, for the terrific job you're doing helping him through it!🙂

Hehe. I remember having two boyfriends when I was younger than ten. If only I had that kind of luck now :D I got a teddy for my birthday that said "I love you". No idea how old I was but pretty young 😱

Things went downhill from there lol.

Hope Alex won't be too embarrassed if I say congratulations on his school work - and so, I won't mention his mum's mention of his girlfriend!
By the way, the Horizon programme on BBC2 last night, presented by David Baddiel, made some interesting points abour balancing success at school with happiness - worth seeing on iPlayer if you missed it.

Well done to Alex, he's obviously working hard both at school and with his diabetes.
