Love the non sweet taste of Greek plain yogurt. Wondering what savoury crunchy toppings could be added for breakfast other than nuts etc? (Grain free low carb etc etc)

I've never tried it, but have always fancied trying Marmite stirred in. Weird?

I found a company (lady) where I live that does low carb granola as a great topper on Greek yoghurt with some berries hits the spot until lunch 🙂 . For the crunch of course and I do add a couple of almonds to finish it 🙂

I use yoghurt on a number of savoury dishes instead of sour cream e.g. Chilli, stroganoff etc. So no reason why you couldn't keep small pots of savoury items ready cooked in the freezer and just defrost to flavour the morning yoghurt.

Yes exactly this. We use Greek yogurt with curry, mince dishes, soups. Lots of savoury dishes.

It’s also really nice in egg mayo (I tend to do half mayo half yogurt)

You could sprinkle crispy fried onion topping if you just want something savoury without it being a full meal.

Some crispy bacon might work well too, perhaps with mixed seeds and some roughly chopped cherry tomatoes and cucumber and perhaps some boiled egg.

Interestingly, I find full fat Greek yoghurt tastes quite sweet to me.

In terms of focusing on any savoury toppings/additions, I would agree on crispy bacon (crispy like the M&S thin strips), or airfried chorizo/salami, rendering it crisp too. You can also make chorizo/salami crisps in a microwave, in you just pop your very thin slices on kitchen roll and cook in 30 second bursts, turning over at each burst.

It doesn't take long.
