I have the smell of a barbecue wafting in my window tonight, this puts me in the frame of mind to have burgers tomorrow as I have a few boxes in my freezer, can anyone tell me if they have seen any ketchup or relish that any of the shops sell that is low sugar and nice?

I used to love dipping chunky chips into mayo and tomato sauce 😛
I am wanting to do it again sometime in the future, but not yet, I decided I need to get stable in the 5s before I consider it.

I make a chilli dip for king prawns with mayo, tomato ketchup and sweet chilli sauce 😛 😛

That sounds lovely the sauce and the chunky chips,I bought a packet of sweet potato cut in to chips sized pieces from Sainsburys on the fruit and veg section they were crinkle cut and I dipped them in full fat soft cheese ,it was lovely, that was my first sweet potato experience,I only had a handful though, todays I bought 81% coco chocolate from Lidl, although thin the squares were quite large which was a pleasant surprise so I will have one of those as a treat.

you should treat yourself to some chocolate from Aldi, moser roth 85%, its a box of 5 25g bars for £1.39 and each bar is under 5g carbs, it is sooo good! 🙂 xx

Oh wonderful, I shall be at Aldi tomorrow 😛

Thanks Jodee, yes I suppose so,I like small squirt bit of salad cream on my boiled eggs with my salad
How about using mayonnaise, instead of salad cream? The jar from my fridge has 1.5 carbs per 100g - I use it to make coleslaw. Or mix with Tuna, or eggs, occaisionally potato salad. 109 calories per tablespoon and negligible carbs.
Have no idea how this compares with salad cream though.

I often have plain natural yoghurt on my salads instead of salad cream or mayo. Sometimes I add some oil to it and a crushed garlic 😛 I have plain natural yoghurt on pretty much everything. Breakfast, lunch and dinner sometimes, just 1-2 dessertspoonsful.

When I used to do a potato salad (past) I would mix half yoghurt with qtr mayo and qtr salad cream.

I like yoghurt very much 😛 :D It goes great on baked potatoe as well, but not had one of those in over a year.

To come back to sauces... I keep a bottle of cheapish white wine in the store cupboard and some creme fraiche in the fridge and if I have cooked something like a pork chop, I will make a sauce by deglazing the pan with some wine and when it has bubbled a bit add some seasoning (salt, pepper, chilli or whatever takes your fancy) and a decent dollop of creme fraiche. A good stir and you have a sauce without any flour at all.

Just had mushrooms done that way with a couple of rashers of bacon on bergen toast, a mostly got from the garden green salad, and coleslaw.
