CRADLEY Heath, Rowley Regis and Oldbury are now part of a worldwide network of urban areas committed to improve the health of residents.
Sandwell made a successful multi-agency application to become a member of the World Health Organisation?s (WHO) UK Healthy Cities Network.
Sandwell Cabinet member for health and wellbeing Councillor Paul Moore said: "This is all about sharing best practices and I am pleased we have been accepted."
The application, which promised to address health inequalities in Sandwell, was made through the Sandwell Health and Wellbeing Board.
