I am pretty easy going when it comes to food, normally if its put in front of me i will eat it. my weakness is indian and chinese currys.
Currently i am having roughly less than 40 carbs a day i am also the type of person that can eat the same stuff daily and not get bored with it
pleased to see i have lost 3.6kg so far (3 weeks almost)

my daily food is
brekkie 2 eggs scrambled 1 slice burgen bread green tea
work lunch lidl protein roll tuna mayo celery satsuma 30g cheese
tea at home ham salad 1 slice burgen bread maybe so home made yoghurt green tea

the main reason behind the salad option is its the only thing my wife can pretty much get right, shes not the best judge of portion size, also where i finish work at different times (bus driver) its the easiest option for prep been fresh rather than something microwaved.

i have my blood sugars pretty stable the early morning one always been the highest between 8.5 - 9.5 rest of the day i test before and after meals i am 5.8 6.2 7.9 and so forth

so is this daily food intake ok in general for me? sundays i have a roast but only have 2 small spuds 1 yorkie and meat plus plenty veg ie broc cabbage cauil carrots etc and i am considering 1 day a week when i am off work to have a free for all curry and chips day

any other cold food ideas appreciated along with any opinions. also if anyone has a tried and tested curry dish i would be grateful 🙂

thanks all and have a happy easter

It's a little low on vitamins I'd say. Why not introduce some more meat and veg? Chops, steaks, mince etc - all this stuff will have vitamins in plus the fat will make you feel full. You can probably eat as much broccoli, peas, cabbage as you like too, so no need to worry about portions for green veg. All this stuff can be reheated in a microwave too.

You can easily have curry too - the stuff out the jar isn't too problematic (although it's easy to make your own with some curry powder or garam masala and some coconut milk or tomato). The issue with curry comes from the rice usually eaten with it. That's easy though, just blitz a cauliflower head in a blender and then stir fry the little bits for a couple of minutes - hey priest, carb free rice. Again, easy to reheat too.

As for curry and chips...a better option would be to make your own chips from sweet potato. Despite the name, sweet potatoes are far lower carb than spuds (about a third of the carbs) and you can use them instead of potatoes for everything.

It's not about cutting stuff out - it's all about replacing certain things with better alternatives.

cheers for the reply and tips

Celeriac also make great chips, in case you find sweet potato ones too sweet.

Get a celeriac, remove skin, chop a big section off & cut into chip shapes. Place in baking tray with a little oil & shove in the oven. Don't know temp as wife does them.😉
